Configuring Google One-Click Authentication (OAuth) for InboxCRM

Google Workspace Admin oAuth

Updated over a week ago

Weโ€™re excited to announce that InboxCRM now supports Google One-Click Authentication (OAuth) โ€” making it easier and more secure to connect Gmail accounts without needing app passwords or SMTP setup to help in data sync between AppEQ and Gmail & Calendar.

This guide walks you through how Workspace Admins can enable OAuth for their Google Workspace, so CSMs and team members can connect Gmail with just a few clicks.

โœ… Why use Google OAuth?

  • No more app passwords or SMTP config

  • Seamless one-click Gmail integration

  • Secure, verified, and admin-controlled

  • A one-time setup per Workspace Admin

๐Ÿ”ง Step-by-Step Setup (Admin-only, done once per workspace)

Step 1: Go to Settings in InboxCRM

  1. Navigate to Settings โ†’ Google

  2. Click Add Account

  3. Select Gmail

  4. Choose OAuth (Recommended)

๐Ÿ“Œ At this point, if OAuth isnโ€™t already authorized by your Workspace Admin, youโ€™ll be prompted to proceed with admin authorization.

Step 2: Sign in with Your Google Workspace Admin Account

  1. Open a browser session where you're logged into your Google Workspace Admin account.

  2. Sign in with the admin account for your domain. (e.g., admin@yourcompany.com)

Step 3: Add InboxCRM as a Trusted App

  1. In the Admin Console, go to Security โ†’ Access and Data Control โ†’ API Controls

  2. Under App Access Control, click Manage Third-Party App Access

  3. Click + Add App โ†’ OAuth App Name or Client ID

  1. When prompted, enter the following Client ID:

275204587022-fidsf7svgt26a2gegoqtvduioq0jcn53.apps.googleusercontent.com
  1. Click Search and select AppEQ from the results

  1. Click Select

  2. Choose Trusted: Can access all Google services

  3. Confirm and Allow Access

โœ… Once added, InboxCRM will appear in your trusted apps list and users can begin connecting Gmail with one click.

Once the above is done, when team members in the above workspace, while using Email / Tasks or Interaction Tracker, they will be prompted to do google auth. At that time, they can do 1-click auth for google.

๐ŸŽ‰ Youโ€™re connected! InboxCRM can now send, receive, and organize your team's emails securely.

๐Ÿ” What Happens Next?

  • Future users from the same Workspace can connect their Gmail without repeating the admin setup

  • OAuth replaces the need for SMTP, 2FA, or App Passwords

  • All Gmail-based features (email sync, contact , calendar sync) now run on the secure, native Google protocol

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Why This Matters

Google OAuth is the recommended and secure method for connecting to Gmail:

  • Reduces authentication issues

  • Handles token expiration automatically

  • Keeps login credentials safe and managed by Google
